Camila Harrington made call after call, informing every member of Blackridge Tactical about the meetup spot. As for the tricky part—checking in their not-so-legal gear—Merrick Huxley had it all under control, no need for her to stress about that.
When the last call ended, she leaned back and rubbed her temples, clearly worn out.
Was Lottie doing okay?
She hadn’t even had the chance to properly say goodbye. The thought of her daughter waiting and wondering where her mom had gone—it made her chest tighten. Lottie hadn’t been apart from her in a long while. Would she feel scared? Would she cry for her?
Camila rarely left without some sort of heads-up. Normally, their agent would handle all the logistics, giving her enough time to spend at least a day or two with her daughter before taking off, making sure everything was in place.
