Just before dawn, the sky started turning pale.
Inside the armory.
After Murphy explained everything, the team finally believed he wasn’t some imposter. While they relaxed a bit, the guards didn't fully drop—after all, trust wasn't something they handed out easily to outsiders.
“So, those guys didn’t come after us—they heard *you* make noise inside the container?” Emma raised an eyebrow at Murphy, her tone matter-of-fact.
Murphy glanced at Camila Harrington, then looked back at Emma. “And she is...?”
“My friend,” Camila cut in, clearly not planning to give away more than necessary.
Murphy took the hint and didn’t press. He offered Emma a smile. “Well, your friend’s got sharp instincts. Yeah, that noise? This thing fell out and hit the metal floor. Loud enough for Thomas to catch wind. If you guys hadn’t shown up, I’d probably be dragged out like cargo.”
He pulled out a stone, about the size of an egg, and held it up for everyone to see.
“Crystal?”
“No way, looks more like a raw diamond
