Elaine kept glancing down at her phone, scrolling through the digital résumés Melanie had sent over. When Joseph brought up Skylar, she was still looking at the screen, her head slightly lowered. Joseph found her increasingly difficult to read. He never quite knew what she was truly thinking. Maybe the uncertainty made him want to test her even more. He wanted to test whether she hated Skylar enough and whether she truly had no lingering feelings for the latter. If Elaine still harbored even a shred of attachment to Skylar, when it came to last night's surveillance footage from Heaven Club, she would at least show some hesitation about releasing it. However, Elaine hadn't hesitated at all. The moment Joseph finished speaking, she replied, "You should just give the surveillance footage to the media, Mr. Montgomery.
