Chapter 52
Eileen's POV
Kyle's eyes locked on mine, and I saw a flash of determination. He took a deep breath, and I knew he was about to make a choice that would change everything. "I understand," he said, his voice firm. "But you have to listen to me, Eileen. You have to hear me out."
I stared at Kyle, my mind racing with questions. What was he hiding? What was his plan? And then, in a voice that was barely above a whisper, he revealed the truth.
"I don't know how to say this. And I know I shouldn't have done this behind your back, but I shouldn't be saying the truth to any of you either. It's a burden only I should carry" He started and I took a step closer to him and placed a hand on his shoulder, looking at him, I spoke.
"You don't have to bare anything alone Kyle. I know you wouldn't betray us, please don't make us think otherwise. What's really going on?" I said and he looked away, looking a bit nervous, like he was rethinking his decision to tell me.
"It's more complicated than you think"
