Chapter 29
The luxury car door swung open with a soft click. Two bodyguards stepped out first, and then a middle-aged man dressed casually but clearly exhausted slowly followed.
Even after two months in the hospital, the hour-long ride had drained what little energy Henry had left. His face looked pale, worn out.
As he stepped out and looked around, confusion flickered in his eyes.
This wasn't his home.
"Wait, where is this place?" he asked, frowning as he turned to the bodyguards who had brought him here.
They didn't say a word. One simply gestured politely toward the entrance. Then both of them got back in the car and drove off, leaving Henry standing there, completely baffled.
He stood frozen for a few moments, almost like his brain needed time to buffer.
"What's going on..." His eyes scanned the unfamiliar surroundings, finally landing on the massive, over-the-top mansion in front of him. After hesitating a bit, he started walking toward the entrance.
