Vincent was taken aback. Whether it was from just waking up or his blindness, his senses had become less sharp. How else could he not notice that Amie's scent was nothing like Tiffany's?
Feeling disheartened, Vincent loosened his grip.
"Here, I'll help you up," Amie said.
Vincent silently withdrew his hand and nonchalantly responded, "No thanks. You can go now."
He stood up from the floor and started feeling his way forward.
After losing his sight, he couldn't even tell which direction to go. He had barely moved forward when Amie exclaimed, "Watch out!"
His knee hit the corner of a table, making him lose his balance and fall.
"Vincent." Amie walked over. "Where are you heading? I'll help you—"
"No." Vincent pushed her away, gritting his teeth as he picked himself up. Ignoring the excruciating pain in his knee, he kept feeling his way forward.
Amie thought Vincent wanted to leave the room, but he was moving in the opposite direction.
