"Nothing is more important than your safety," Chandler insisted stubbornly. "No," Helen countered, her clarity slicing through the tension. "If all of Grand Cathay isn't safe, we can't afford to be complacent. We have responsibilities that extend beyond just the two of us." She paused, wrapping her arms around Chandler's neck. "I know you've helped me in secret before, but I need you to trust that I can handle this myself. Can you do that?" she whispered. As Chandler opened his mouth to protest, Helen placed a finger gently on his lips, her gaze intense. "No 'buts.' Those with ill intentions can easily exploit your vulnerabilities. I don't want to be a burden. If you won't let me prove myself, I might as well stay away to keep you safe." With that, she began to pull away, trying to slip out of his embrace. Chandler quickly tightened his hold around her waist, drawing her back in. "If you disappear, I'll be so lovesick I might as well wither away!" With a sigh, he eventually gave
