Jennifer slowly opened her eyes,
The morning light streaming through the window like a gentle wake-up call.
She stretched her arms above her head, arching her back in a languid cat-like stretch.
Her mind was still foggy, but as she sat up and swung her legs over the side of the bed, her thoughts began to clear.
She yawned, her mouth opening wide in a silent scream, and rubbed the sleep from her eyes.
Her hair was a tangled mess, and she ran her fingers through it, trying to tame the knots.
She glanced at her clock, the red numbers blinking 7:00 AM.
Jennifer threw off the covers and got out of bed, her feet padding softly on the carpet.
She shuffled to the kitchen, her eyes half-open, and reached for the cereal box.
She poured herself a bowl, the sweet aroma of cornflakes filling the air.
She added milk, the liquid splashing against the sides of the bowl, and sat down at the table.
As she ate, she gazed out the window, the morning light illuminating her face.
