The next morning, Eva stirred under the warm sheets. She could feel the warmth of a body beside her. Zayne. He lay beside her with one arm tucked beneath his head and the other arm wrapped across her waist. His features were now softened in sleep. She smiled. For a moment, she simply watched him breathe. And then his eyes opened. Slowly, he smiled. "Hey," he said. His voice was low and deliciously rough with sleep. The sound sent a shiver down her spine. Eva smiled back, brushing a strand of hair from his forehead. “Good morning.” Zayne’s gaze didn’t leave hers. “You’re here.” “Of course I am.” She traced a finger gently down his jaw. “Where else would I be?” He leaned in slightly, brushing his lips against her forehead. “Next to me is only place that makes sense right now.” Her heart fluttered at his words. She tucked herself closer against his chest. “Feels like we just survived a storm.” Zayne chuckled softly “You didn’t just survive it… you brought me back from it.” Eva
