Calliope was instantly at a loss for words.
This morning, Conrad told her to jog to work, and she flat-out drove off half an hour early instead.
She sighed helplessly. "It's way too hot outside. If I run to the office, I'll be drenched."
Conrad replied coolly, "I told you to bring a change of clothes."
Calliope didn't back down. "There's no shower at work! Being soaked and smelly is still gross."

Resorting to whining, she mumbled, "Well, I just don't wanna jog to work, okay?"
The room went dead silent suddenly.
After a beat, she asked tentatively, "Are you mad?"
"It's your body, not mine-why would I be mad?"
The sarcasm dripping from his voice? Yeah... he was absolutely pissed.
Suddenly, she heard the rustle of a blanket being thrown aside. Calliope flinched and looked away.
