Calliope Godfrey’s question came a little too blunt.
Charles Sterling’s expression stiffened, visibly.
He frowned, and his tone turned cold. “I already told you, no one sent me. I came because I wanted to.”
The cold curve of Calliope’s lips only deepened.
“Uncle, whoever convinced you to talk to me about getting back together with him...” She paused, her tone firm and steady with every word. “I really hope you can think this through.”
“There’s no way we’re getting back together.”
