After Eliana finished speaking, she turned and walked straight into the Horizon Network building. Gabriel tried to follow her, but the security guards stopped him. He could only watch helplessly as she walked farther and farther away. Frustrated, he slammed his fist against the wall and stayed outside, waiting for her to finish work and come out. Around noon, the giant TV screen on the building played her live news broadcast. It was the country's first national news broadcast and incredibly popular, but this was the first time Gabriel truly paid attention to it. He barely recognized her. She looked sharp and radiant. She spoke with confidence, her smile natural and poised. She was nothing like the quiet, timid housewife he remembered. For a moment, Gabriel forgot everything else.
