Meanwhile, Lance hurried off the plane in Linton, gripping his suitcase's handle with one hand and his phone in the other. His phone screen showed a blurry location pin that his friend had sent him.
He jumped into a cab straight from the airport and headed into the city center. He searched for and asked about Sienna, hopping from shop to shop, starting from the first one on the street.
For a full week, he scoured the streets. He went from the cafes near the college to the quiet corners of the library. He visited bookstores and parks where he thought Sienne might go. Blisters formed on his feet, but he never caught even a glimpse of the familiar figure he longed to see.
This went on until one dusky evening, when he stopped in front of a small cinema. The marquee lights glowed a warm yellow against the darkening sky. As he passed the entrance, a familiar profile caught his eye.
For a moment, he forgot how to breathe.
It was Sienna. She wore a cream-colored coat with her hair falling
