Taylor always referred to the place they now shared as "home". But it hadn't truly been a home since their divorce three years ago.
Natalie didn't respond. She walked over to the couch and sat down in the seat opposite him. "There's something I need your help with."
"What is it?" Taylor asked, looking up from his work.
"Bethany has lived in Casadonia before. She's struggling to get by in Jadebourgh now and is wary about the way I'm handling things. She might be thinking of escaping to Casadonia.
"I remember you used to like sending people to follow me three years ago. Since that's your area of expertise, I'd like you to send a couple of people to keep an eye on Bethany and make sure she doesn't get away."
Taylor looked at Natalie, a hint of displeasure crossing his face. "If you want my help, just ask directly. What's with bringing up old grievances?"
Natalie shrugged with a nonchalant smile. "Maybe I'm just the kind of woman who tends to annoy people with what I say."
