Bruno, who had been pouring wine for Lilah, froze mid-action. "What document?"
"The doctor said Mrs. Zedano took off in the early hours of the morning, and she left behind… divorce papers."
Bruno gripped his phone so hard that it nearly cracked in his hand. He immediately leaped to his feet, his expression as dark as an oncoming storm. He couldn't even believe his ears—even though he knew he had gone a little too far this time.
Even if she wasn't willing to apologize, she still shouldn't have threatened him—the Don—with divorce.
A flash of mockery crossed Lilah's eyes, but she tugged on his custom-tailored suit and said softly, "Did something happen to Amara? I'll go with you. Maybe I can help?"
Bruno nodded, and the two immediately took the Rolls-Royce and headed to the private hospital.
Inside the car, Lilah's soft hand brushed over his chest. "Don't worry, Amara will be fine."
