Chapter 28 Why Should I Help Her?
When Lila Cross arrived at Yvonne Smoke's shooting set, the atmosphere was oppressively tense. The director had just finished a furious outburst and was now sipping tea in silence, still fuming. Yvonne sat pale-faced in a corner, her fingers tightly gripping the script.
"What happened?" Lila cautiously approached Landon Radley and whispered.
"It's a monologue scene," Landon Radley lowered his voice. "Yvonne needs to portray a shift in emotions—from anger, to ecstasy, to despair, to acceptance—all in one take. She failed it five or six times yesterday. The director told her to go home and calm down. But even after coming back this morning, she still can't get it right."
He sighed. "Yvonne's no rookie. But this kind of performance is just too difficult."
Lila bit her lip and slowly walked over to Yvonne, sitting down beside her. "Mind if I take a look?"
