Chapter 700
Melina threw off the covers and was about to get out of bed when she froze.
She wasn't at her dorm room.
The memory hit her then. She was pregnant, and Andrew had taken her away.
She blamed the oversleeping on the pregnancy.
Looking around, the room felt unfamiliar but cozy. The bedspread had a golden hue, the carpet soft and white, and a pair of pink fuzzy slippers sat neatly by the bed.
She slipped out of bed and pulled the curtains open.
Bright sunlight streamed in, filling the room with warm light. Outside the window, a field of flowers—red and white camellias, delicate magnolias, and tiny plum blossoms—was in full bloom.
The colorful patchwork of blooms lifted her mood instantly.
The arrangement wasn't polished or sophisticated, and some might even call it tacky, but Melina loved it. It reminded her of a home in the countryside. She'd once told Andrew that a garden bursting with vibrant colors was the most beautiful thing she could imagine.
Feeling light
