"Well, if it isn't Mr. Beach himself." Reuben Brooks turned around and spotted Beckett leaning against the wall, looking like a disaster—bloodied and clearly worn out.
With a snarky tone, Reuben strolled over. "You two come in a set now or separately?"
Beckett just grunted, not into explaining.
Reuben let out a short laugh, grabbed Beckett's report, and skimmed it. "No foreign stuff in the wound, not that deep either. Come on in, I'll stitch it up real quick."
"The wound's not serious, right?" Nicholas stood beside Beckett, sounding worried.

Though Julian wore his usual deadpan look, there was no hiding his concern for Beckett.
Clearly, both of them had already accepted Beckett as family—it was just that no one wanted to say it out loud.
