Chapter 129
The Morning Before D-Day
Damien's POV
My excitement was starting to get the better of me, tomorrow, I would finally have Maya back. I was beyond tired of waiting, but now the day was nearly here. The house I built for her and her sisters would be finished by Thursday. They would only have to stay in the cells for a little over twenty-four hours. It was nearly impossible to stay calm. I wanted to scream from the rooftops that the woman I cared for, whether she wanted it or not, was returning to me. I wanted her, and now, at last, I was going to have her.
The men were finishing up the painting and final touch-ups. I had the bars reinforced with thin but incredibly strong metal, laced with silver to make sure neither Lauren nor Meliza could bend them enough to escape. I planned to do the final walkthrough tonight to make sure everything was perfect.
Sooner or later, they’ll come around. They’ll learn soon enough that escape is impossible, and when they do, they’ll learn to make us happy.
