Three weeks Later
Meliza had given birth just a few days ago, and while everyone was still riding the high of the newborn excitement, I could tell Maya was quietly frustrated by how long her own pregnancy was dragging on. Honestly, I couldn’t blame her. It didn’t seem fair, but I wasn’t complaining. All it meant was that I’d have more time with her before our baby arrived.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m counting the days until we meet our little one. It’s something I’ve wished for over centuries, something I never believed I’d actually have: children of my own. I love our baby already. But these extra months with Maya? They’re priceless. This is our honeymoon phase, and once the baby comes, everything changes.
