Carl paid no heed to Levi's protests and immediately revved up the bike. I quickly hopped on, worried that Levi might impulsively drag Carl off the bike. In the end, Levi and I rode pillion while Carl steered us away from Winchester.
We kept to the old road outside the city to avoid getting on the cops' radar before finally arriving at Rust Creek. Levi led us to a coffeehouse and had us park by the entrance.

It was such a simple, no-frills name.
The coffee house encompassed two levels. The first one hosted about a dozen tables, with about 20 more tables propped up under the tree's shade outside. It was only morning, but most of the tables were already occupied.
Most of the customers were middle-aged or old. Some were sipping coffee, while others played chess, poker, or chatted. A lot of them turned to greet Levi when they saw him.
