The next day, a blinding streak of sunlight shone through the gap in the curtains, falling onto Genevieve's face.
Her head felt like it was about to explode.
She was familiar with the dull, pounding headache of a hangover. Letting out a groan, she opened her eyes slowly.
The next instant, she froze.
Her mind was in utter chaos. As she sat up, the silk quilt fell off her, revealing red marks along her collarbones. Her eyes fell on the bed, which was an absolute mess, and then on a man's shirt tossed not too far away on the carpet.
Memories from the night before flooded into her mind.
"Crap," she thought to herself. "Did I sleep with Tristan again?"
Her face immediately paled.
What had she done?
She was so embarrassed that she wished the ground would swallow her whole.
She couldn't stay there any longer. With that thought, she tossed the quilt off her and got out of bed barefoot, trying her best to ignore how sore her body was.
