"You can get lost too. I don't want to see you. You two might as well get divorced and leave me with Wendy," Robert snarked.
James couldn't help but smirk at that. "Come again?"
Robert's face reddened with anger. "I'm not joking. Let me live with Wendy. You clearly don't appreciate a good woman. I'll help her screen her next husband myself."
That finally struck a nerve, and James' brow tightened slightly.
"She wants to get remarried?" he asked.
He immediately assumed Wendy had said something to Robert, and that thought irritated him to no end. But the moment the words left his mouth, Robert's expression changed completely.
"What do you mean by that? Why are you even worried about her remarrying? Wait… are you two divorced?"
Each question hit like a hammer, and James stood there, speechless.
Robert's sharp gaze locked onto him like a hawk eyeing its prey.
"No. You're overthinking it. We already have a child. Divorce isn't an option," James quickly said.
