Nolan raised an eyebrow. "Oh? And how should I talk to her, Logan? Like a delicate flower who can't handle the truth? I thought I raised you to be stronger than that."
As Logan and his father began to argue, their voices rising, Deonna felt a headache building behind her eyes. This was supposed to be a mediation, a chance to find common ground. Instead, it was turning into yet another battleground.
"Stop it!" she finally shouted, surprising herself with the force of her voice. Both men fell silent, turning to look at her. "This isn't helping anyone. We came here to talk about our issues, not to be lectured or insulted."
