I put on the large hoodie, making sure it kept my face hidden.
“So, why do you want me to go there? Do you want to heal him?” I asked.
‘Something like that,’ Jade replied vaguely.
“How do you do it?” I asked, sitting on the bench, to put on the sneakers.
‘Do what?’ she asked.
“The healing stuff,” I clarified, tying the laces. “It’s something I can’t find an explanation for.”
There was silence, and I paused. She wasn’t going to answer.

I frowned. “You don’t know?”
‘I know it doesn’t sound convincing, but that’s the truth. There are so many things I can’t even begin to explain about myself or what I can do.’
I ran a hand through my hair, shaking my head in exasperation. “I want to believe you, Jade. I really do.” I sighed.
I sneaked out of the storage room where I had borrowed (stolen) some clothes and walked through the clinic hallways, keeping my head down under the hoodie
