Staring at the yellowed adoption papers, Ethan pursed his lips in silence.
He could make Alison his sister in name, but she could never truly become part of the Sawford family.
His expression grew colder by the second.
Eventually, he stood up abruptly.
"Alison is not a child anymore. What would people say if you adopted her now?"
"Exactly, Dad. She's way too old for that. People would laugh at us. Anyway, I've got stuff to do—see ya."
With that, Timothy bolted.
Ethan also excused himself, saying he had work at the company.
Soon, only Bobby and Alison were left in the living room.
Facing Bobby's dark expression, Alison offered a gentle smile and shook her head. "Dad, I'm doing fine as I am. Please don't get upset with Ethan and Timothy because of me."
Her maturity only made Bobby more disappointed in his sons.
He huffed angrily.
"Those three are all useless. Don't worry, Alison. I will make you my daughter in every sense of the word."
