Jeremy looked at Melody. "You have ten minutes." He didn't want to stay in a place like this any longer than necessary.
Melody had always listened to him. So, she went back into the guesthouse, packed her things, and came out without asking where he was taking her.
At the worst, she could always come back later on. It wasn't like Jeremy driving her home happened often—maybe once or twice a year at most.
As Melody sat in the car, she thought about what Felicia had told her—after finishing her weekend part-time job, she should start looking for a rental.
Melody was so caught up in her thoughts that she didn't even notice that Jeremy had driven back to the apartment. It wasn't until they pulled into the underground parking lot that she realized it.
She looked at him in confusion. "Why are we here?"
Jeremy's face remained expressionless as he answered in a flat tone, "Where else would we go?"
