Jeremy had spoken in a concise and commanding tone, making Melody feel like he was asking for her, rather than the cinnamon rolls.
Still, she pushed the plate toward him.
Her voice was barely above a whisper. "They're made of cream cheese. I don't know if you'll like them."
After their engagement, she rarely cooked for him. They usually ate at the hospital cafeteria or went out for their meals.
Even when they stayed in, they typically ate separately.
However, she vaguely remembered that he had liked cinnamon rolls from when they were teenagers.
He took the plate and said nothing. With the faintly sweet aroma of the rolls filling the air, he picked up a fork and ate one.
