Ava's crimson lips curled as she spoke, voice tinged with flirtation. "Miss me already? I've only been gone a few days."

"I called you. Why didn't you pick up?"
She gave a short laugh, rolling her eyes hard. "Edgar, you sure you're not drunk and just wandered in here by mistake? This is a bar, not your office. I'm a customer, not your employee. You don't get to bark orders at me."
Seriously, what made him think she owed him an answer, just because he called?
The annoyed look in his eyes-like she was making a scene-only made her blood boil. She slammed the glass down on the table and glared at him, defiant. "If you're not here to drink, then get out. You hanging around is really killing the vibe.
