I was so scared and terrified, cold. I listened to the scream, it wasn't the monstrous howl of a werewolf, but a human cry, filled with raw terror. It came from the direction of the herbalist's cottage, our only hope. We exchanged a panicked glance, fear hung heavily in the air.
"We have to help her," I said, my voice almost in a whisper, my heart beating like it'll fall out of my rib cage. I was confused. So confused.
Declan's jaw clenched tight. "We need the wolfsbane, but..." he trailed off, his eyes looking so sharp like they could fall out.
The decision was firm. The herbalist might hold the key to stopping Ted, but facing an enraged werewolf was a suicide mission, and we were not ready to be in that shoe. Yet, the thought of someone innocent being mauled by Ted sent a fresh wave of pain coursing through me.
"We go," I said, my voice surprisingly steady. "We help her, and then we get the wolfsbane, alright?
