CHAPTER HUNDRED AND TWO COMING TO TERMS
JADE’S POV
“You have plans?” He asks, beating me to it, so I just nod my head and drop the bracelets in my hand before I walk to the door. “I do, and I would’ve said something earlier, but I forgot,” I admit, but he doesn’t move, and I’m a bit confused until I realize what he could be thinking, so I speak up to hear the confusion. “It’s just dinner with a couple of my female friends; you even know some of them,” I explain, and I know that he’s more relaxed now.
“Your friend, what was her name? The one who wore a napkin as a dress, she’ll be there too, right?” He asks, and although I’m offended by his choice of words, I just nod, but I remember something else and speak up. “Funny enough, I almost wore what you’re referring to as a napkin on the night you came back,” I gibe playfully, but the dark look on his face now makes me regret ever opening my mouth. “Forget I said anything,” I try, but I know he won’t.
