Chapter 300
Night fell, and the snow kept drifting down.
The road outside was blanketed in white, with just a few tracks left behind by late-night travelers. The little snowflakes floated aimlessly, not really going anywhere, just quietly falling—no matter where you were, snow was always the same—soft, light, and perfectly white.
In the dark, Georgia stirred awake.
She sat up, quiet as a mouse, eyes fixed on the snowy world outside. Without waking anyone, she tiptoed over to the floor-to-ceiling window and knelt down, watching the snow silently fall. After a while, she poked her tiny finger toward the glass.
But of course, she couldn’t touch the snowflakes.
She wondered—could one of those flakes be Daddy, coming back to see her for a bit?
Didn’t seem like it. Snowflakes were white, but when Daddy left, his hair was still black as night. So… probably not him. Probably not Mommy either.
