CHAPTER ONE HUNDRED AND SEVENTY - ETHAN'S ILLNESS
Anna stood at the window of Erik's mansion, her gaze fixed on the sprawling garden outside. The weight of recent events hung heavy on her shoulders. She turned as Erik entered the room, his face etched with worry.
"Any change?" Anna asked, her voice barely above a whisper.
Erik shook his head, running a hand through his disheveled hair. "No. The doctors are baffled. They've never seen anything like this before."
Anna moved to Erik's side, placing a comforting hand on his arm. "We'll figure this out, Erik. We have to."
Just then, a servant burst into the room, breathless. "Mr. Fairchild, it's your brother. He's taken a turn for the worse."
Without a word, Erik and Anna rushed to Ethan's room. The sight that greeted them was heart-wrenching. Ethan lay in bed, his skin pale and clammy, his breathing labored.
"Erik," Ethan croaked, his eyes fluttering open. "I heard you talking... about a cure."
