LUCIAN’S POV The day has been painfully long. I've been sorting out a pile of files placed on my desk by my assistant like she was after my life. That alone has its way of stressing me out. The work didn't really bother me—at least I was used to it by now. But the silence in my office had a way of reminding me of the mess waiting beyond it. So when my phone lit up with Aiden’s name on the screen, I almost ignored it. Almost. Because I knew why he was calling. But I decided to pick it up. “What's this I'm hearing about you giving Luna divorce papers?” he said the minute I picked up. Straight to the point, I see. “Elora no longer holds that title,” I said, leaning back in my office chair. Aiden sighed loudly. “So, it's true then.” “It had to be done that way. I had no choice.” There was a pause at first, then he said, “I won't try to change your mind, Lucian. But as your beta and your best friend, I'll give you some advice. Think about it.
