LUCAS’S POV
The Phone call had been a gamble. Oliver Blackwell wasn’t the type of man you call for a last minute favour. He was always swamped with meetings and projects that moved the entire fashion and tech industry forward. But still, I tried. I told myself if there's anyone who could make Elora’s grandmother’s birthday truly memorable, it was him.
When he picked the call after two rings and snapped. “I'm busy, Lucas. What is it?” my heart almost stopped. Then I explained everything—the party, the way guests suddenly left, the way Elora wanted her grandmother’s birthday party to be perfect, but it was almost ruined. I knew Oliver, behind all that coldness and sharp words, he had a soft spot for Elora and elderly people he held in high places. Though he doesn't show it, it was there.
