Georgina woke up with a start in the early hours of morning, gasping and clutching her chest as she tried to steady her breathing. Her panic immediately roused Klaus, who wrapped his strong arms around her trembling form. She sobbed quietly against his chest.
"What's wrong, little rabbit?" he asked, his voice husky with concern.
Georgina shook her head, unable to recall the details of her nightmare, yet the feeling of dread lingered like poison on her tongue. She looked up into Klaus's eyes, finding an unexpected sense of safety in their depths.
"I... I just have this terrible feeling," she whispered. "Like something awful is about to happen."
"What do you mean?"
Klaus stroked her back, his mind still foggy from interrupted sleep, though his wolf was fully alert, sensing his mate's distress.
"I always get these feelings when something bad is brewing. I had the same sensation before I was kidnapped..." Her voice faltered. "What if Megan is planning some kind of revenge against us?"
