#Chapter 6 Fighting

Anila POV I looked down at the wand in my hands, my face reddening. “I… uh…” I tried to say, but he didn’t let me finish before he reached his hand out. “Let me have it.” The wand wiggled from my hands, and I released it, allowing it to fly to Damien. He studied the wand with a curious frown. Xaden stepped in front of me and blocked my view of the others. The air around us pulsed when Xaden said, “She isn’t your mate. She’s mine.” “The hell she is,” Zach growled, stepping toward us. How was it possible to have more than one mate? Especially one of them being a bear? In all my reading, I had never heard of such a thing, and from their faces, I could tell this wasn’t normal. Harley looked confused but said nothing as he stared at me, then at Xaden, and then at Zach. Zach’s face morphed into a snout, and his ocean-blue eyes began to turn yellow with a fiery ember burning within them. The form grew large as clothes started to rip from the fur and muscle burst forth. A large blonde wolf stood before us and his growl was fierce, sending an icy chill down my spine. His canines snapped in the direction of Xaden and then in the direction of Harley who still looked utterly confused. “Stay behind me,” Xaden ordered me as he too started to shift into a big black wolf with piercing yellow eyes and canines so sharp, they looked as if they could bite through the toughest metal. I soon realized the danger as they lunged at one another. Damien stood in the distance with his arms folded across his chest and looking as though he wasn’t interested in the least in what was happening. However, his eyes kept traveling from the fight to his wand, and then to me. I watched as a very confused-looking Harley also started to shift. I stared wide-eyed as his light orange fur burst through his clothes and his canines grew large and fierce. Little round ears twitched on top of his head and despite his large size and deadly-looking canines, I couldn’t help but think that he looked adorable. “Enough of this! A new voice boomed across the room, causing my body to freeze. An older man walked into the room; he held a cane in his hand that moved with him as he walked. At the sound of his voice, all three shifters stopped fighting and began to whimper as if they were in pain. The man lifted his cane and drew a circle around the shifters. An intense pressure stole my breath and walls of light divided between the three, encircling them and keeping them separate. They weren’t happy as they thrashed against the barriers keeping them separated, trying to desperately get at one another. I couldn’t help but flinch away; I didn’t like to see them fighting like this and I couldn’t help but blame myself for it. “You must be Anila Montgomery,” the gentleman with the cane said. “Y…yes sir,” I stammered. “Welcome to Lunar Academy. I’m Principal Rapport,” he said brightly. I offered him a small smile and then he glanced at Damien; the only one of the three who hadn’t lost his mind. “How about you two follow me into the auditorium,” he said, motioning toward the shifters. “There’s more space and a lot more private. I need to deal with these three.” “I don’t think so,” Damien said, sounding almost bored. “I don’t want any part of what is going on here. I’m not sure why this girl had my wand, but I’m not one of the smitten beasts who go rabid at the sight of a woman they just met.” Principle Rapport clenched his jaw, but he nodded his head. “Then, you are free to go,” he replied. Damien didn’t spare either of us another look; he only turned and disappeared out of the room. I found myself staring after him, wondering what he was all about. But then the growling and snapping of the shifters brought my attention back to the issue at hand. What was I going to do if all three of these guys were my mates? Principle Rapport, motioned for me to follow him with his head and then waved his cane to force the barriers to move along with him, moving the shifters. I followed closely behind them as we made it outside and toward the auditorium building. Once we were inside the empty auditorium, Principle stopped walking and reached into his cloak. I watched him with fascination wondering what he was about to do, and to my surprise, he pulled out a handful of dust. Throwing the dust at the shifters, all three of them began to sneeze. As the dust cleared around them, my heart leaped into my throat and my face blazed with heat. They were all back in their human forms. Except all three of them were naked. Zach’s body was leaner than Xaden’s, his stature a bit shorter, and his manhood was longer, even as it lay flaccid against his legs. He rubs the back of his neck, a bit sheepishly and a little confused. But he didn’t seem to mind being naked. Neither wolf did, but Harley on the other hand, stood with a very red face and his massive hand covering his manhood. However, as big as his hand was, it wasn’t big enough. In general, Harley was big and nicely built with broader shoulders and a chest I could lay on for an eternity. My cheeks reddened more as my eyes shifted downward; and gazed at the manhood he desperately tried to cover but with the thick girth of his member between his massive thighs, it wasn’t possible. “I probably should have mentioned they’d be naked,” Principal Rapport murmured as he tossed a sack on the ground in front of them. “Get dressed.” Xaden was the first to grab the bag and pull out some clothes, throwing them at Zach and Harley. Harley was quick to dress, and Zach took his sweet time. “Does someone care to explain to me what is going on?” Principal Rapport asked. “She’s my mate,” Xaden said through a clenched jaw. “Bullshit and you know it,” Zach spat. “Must you try to take everything that belongs to me?” “I take what is rightfully mine,” Xaden growled back to his brother. “You all feel the mate bond with this young girl?” Principal Rapport asked, raising his brows. “All three of you?” He glanced at Harley who was standing to the side with his head lowered and his eyes fixed on his hands. “Harley?” Principal Rapport urged, arching his brow. Harley sighed and his gaze shifted to meet mine; I could see a deep sadness in his ember eyes, and it shattered my heart. “Yes, I feel it too,” he said in a voice so inaudible I almost didn’t hear him. But Principal Rapport and the others didn’t struggle to hear him. This caused Xaden and Zach to growl again, focusing their attention on Harley, who avoided their gazes. His gaze was on me, and I felt my face flushing as I broke eye contact and stared at the ground. “I am to blame for this,” I whispered; guilt bubbled in the pit of my stomach. Principal Rapport studied me. “It is quite interesting to have three mates; one being a bear,” Principal Rapport said, narrowing his eyes at me. “Not to mention the fact that you were able to hold Damien’s want without any repercussions. I’m very interested to find out who you truly are, Anila.” I felt my face heating. “Who are your parents?” I was surprised by the question and when I looked up at Principal Rapport, he stared back at me with curiosity in his wise eyes. “I don’t really remember them. They both died when I was young.” Principal Rapport studied me a moment longer before nodding. “I will take you to see Professor Howl; that can help us determine what’s happening, and what magic lineage you have.” He turned back to the three men, each of them was watching me intently. “However, this current issue needs to be resolved. I can’t have you boys at each other’s throats whenever you are around each other. So, figure it out.” The three of them looked at one another. “I’m her rightful mate,” Xaden said, folding his arms across his chest. “It should be me. You two should back down from her.” “And what gives you the right to stake your claim on her?” Zach asked, his brows knitted together. “I have as much of a claim on her as you do.” Xaden turned to face his brother. “Because before we got to this school, we had already been intimate.”
