Chapter 31

I didn't flinch as the gun in my hand kicked as bullets rained into the men that guarded the elevator. As the last man fell Simon opened the elevator motioning us forward. We entered quietly and quickly reloaded our guns. Simon's face was smoothed of anything he was feeling and I knew he was focused solely on his baby sister. "The bastards mine" he stated. My uncle and I nodded. As we rose higher and higher my thoughts drifted. Darian had blown my phone up the instant he realised I was gone. In the back of my mind I could feel his panic and pain but I pushed it aside making sure ot keep my block in place. I thought of the phone call I'd given to Blaze this morning. "Mommy I promise I'll be good I promise! Just come back" He sobbed breaking my heart. "Oh baby you did nothing wrong. I'm so sorry I had to leave but I promise it wasn't because of you" I soothed.
