#Chapter 106 – First Steps

The boys begin their plans, and I almost immediately start to lose track of what they’re talking about. It’s not that they’re deliberately trying to keep me out of it by speaking in codes or anything – I just don’t understand half of the people they’re making reference to, or the places, or the strategies. After a couple of minutes I loose a long breath, pushing to my feet and picking up my half-drunk mug of coffee. “Are you all right?” Christian asks, interrupting Nico and turning his eyes up to me, reaching out a hand. “I’m fine,” I say softly, nodding to him and briefly brushing his fingers with mine. “I’m just not being very useful here – and you know how I like to keep busy.” I lift my chin to the kitchen, where my bags of clothes are still sitting and where there’s much to do.
