I stare, aghast, at my smiling husband. “Chris!” I shout, leaning forward to smack him on the shoulder. “Don’t look so excited about that, you idiot!”
Christian bursts out laughing and leans forward, grabbing me and pulling me out of my chair, into his lap. “What? I can’t get excited at the prospect of our future children, Iris?”
“Chris!” I gasp, shaking my head and taking his face in my hands and staring into his face even as I let him wrap his arms around me. “Future is the only operative word there! If I were pregnant right now…”
I shake my head, staring at him, willing him to see the absolute disaster that would be.
