28. The Part Where We're Locked In
The two of us momentarily stare at the closed metal door, the fact of the moment sinking in. "Wow, you really have a knack of getting yourself locked in and out of places." I say, a little worried about the situation.
Cameron bangs the door and tries to call out for help outside. When she heaves out a breath, exasperated with the effort, she then turns to me. "Do you have your phone? We can call Tiff or Pete to get us out."
Without a word, I immediately check my pockets. "Are you kidding me?" I say as I find my pockets empty. "I must've left it at Tiff's car. What about your phone?"
Cameron shakes her head, "It's in my purse - and my purse is on the kitchen counter."
I let out a breath. "Well, does this thing have like a switch or an emergency thingy for situations like this."
"Oh yeah, because people get stuck in here all the time." Cammie says sarcastically. She was obviously upset about the situation.
