IRENE'S POV
“This isn't right, Irene. I don't agree with you.”
I placed a hand on Carlyle’s shoulder, softening my approach.
“Carlyle, I understand you want the best for the pack, but sometimes we need to recognize that our warriors have different strengths. It’s our job to nurture those strengths, not tear them down when they don’t meet our expectations.”
He nodded, still somewhat chastened . “but Sasha can't train for the sprinting events.”
I smiled, ignoring him.
With that, I turned back to Sasha, who looked at me with gratefulness in her eyes.
“Keep your head up,” I told her. “You’ll do great.”
Sasha straightened her posture, nodding resolutely.
“Thank you, Luna. I won’t let you down.”
I nodded back, feeling a sense of pride swell within me. This is what being a Luna was about, not just leading but guiding and supporting those who needed it most.
