Everyone stood there for a moment, stunned. No one had expected the nurse to make such a request. Sophia was the first to snap out of it. She said casually, like it wasn't a big deal, "Yeah, the spot for treatment is a bit tricky to reach. Miss Johnson, could you lend a hand?" Alexander looked down at her, frowning as he thought for a second, then glanced up at Eira, whose face was blank. He assumed she'd say no right away-but to his surprise, she didn't even hesitate. "Sure." She was curious to see what kind of trick Sophia was trying to pull. The nurse came over and wheeled Sophia into the exam room. Eira followed right behind. Alexander sat down on a chair in the hallway, brows still furrowed, clearly worried Eira might do something. Better to stay close. Facing him across the hallway, Ethan stood calmly. In Alexander's mind played the scene from the masquerade night-Eira laughing and chatting with Ethan, her face more animated than it had been in years. He hadn't seen that side of
