Aisha's POV
"I am not your Luna."
The words left my lips before I could think twice. The weight of the title, the claim, was suffocating. It didn't matter that Simon had said it with authority. It didn't matter that the entire pack had heard him. It wasn't true.
I didn't want to be anybody's Luna, not if I will be treated the same way Jack treated me.
Silence stretched between us. I could feel the tension in the air, thick and suffocating, but I refused to back down.
Simon's golden eyes met mine, unreadable, but before he could respond, a pained groan broke through the moment.
Haynes.
I immediately turned to him, my sharp eyes scanning the deep wound on his leg. The silver had burned through his flesh, the surrounding tissue raw and festering. Infection had already set in. If he didn't receive proper treatment soon, he wouldn't last another week.
"We need to get him to the hospital now," I said firmly.
