Aisha's POV
Panic clawed at my chest as Jack stepped out from the shadows.

He shouldn't be here. He couldn't be here.
But there he stood, calm and composed, as if he hadn't just walked straight into enemy territory. His smug expression chilled my blood. If Jack had made it this far into Simon's packlands, then someone… someone had let him in.
A traitor.
Emma stood frozen beside me, her wide eyes flickering with recognition and fury. She immediately turned to signal for help, fingers moving quickly. I caught the meaning: Simon.
"No," I whispered, shaking my head. "He's still healing. If he fights like this... the pack can't take another hit."
Jack tilted his head, watching us with the detached amusement of a predator playing with its food. "You're always so noble, Aisha," he said in that voice—honeyed and poisonous. "That's what I've always admired about you."
