Aisha's POV
His kiss was tender, yet there was no denying the possessiveness behind it. Simon's lips moved against mine with a slow certainty that made my thoughts scatter like wind-blown petals.
I had come here intending to scold him again for being over-the-top, for turning our shared bedroom into something out of a fae-dream, all glowing flowers and soft scents. But now?
Now, I couldn't remember a single word of reprimand.
His breath was warm against my skin, his hand settled firmly at the small of my back, guiding me further into the room. Every step we took was accompanied by the delicate rustle of petals underfoot, and the faint sound of night creatures piping through the hidden sound enchantments. It was beautiful. Too much. To him.
"You're ridiculous," I muttered against his lips.
His mouth curled in a smile. "And yet, here you are. Still kissing me."
I pulled away just enough to narrow my eyes at him. "Because you drugged me with flowers and glowing lights."
