Aisha's POV
The knock at the emergency bay door came just after midnight.
I was finishing up paperwork in the neutral hospital's trauma wing, rubbing my temples and trying to ignore the dull throb in my neck when Nurse Mara peeked into my office, her voice tight. "Doctor Aisha… someone's here. She's hurt. Badly. Says she's your sister."
I froze, pen stilling in my hand.

I didn't ask questions. I was on my feet before Mara could explain more, following her through the corridor at a sprint. My heart was pounding, not just with worry, but disbelief. The last time I saw Lisa, we weren't exactly on speaking terms. And even before that, we'd drifted far beyond sisterhood.
What ruse was she trying to use to get one over me. She betrayed me and took my mate. Despite the fact that I was happy now, it didn't change what she did to me.
