"Shawn Stones, this isn't your office, and neither is this your company. You don't call the shots around here. Let me just be clear with you on that," I said to Shawn as we stared at each other with rankled faces.
"Can you please tell this assistant of yours to leave?" Shawn looked at Ava, then looked at me back.
"Why exactly?"
"I want to have a private conversation with you."
"What do you want to talk about?" I asked him.
"She should leave first," Shawn told me, gesturing towards Ava.
"Seems like you're not ready to talk." I gave him a feigned smile.
"I'm not leaving." He chose to be stubborn.
"I can just call security.'
"You wouldn't want to do that."
We glared at each other for a short moment before I turned to my assistant. "Ava, leave us alone."
