We headed toward the kitchen, and my sleepiness gave way to a flicker of annoyance. I yawned and asked, “So, what would you like for breakfast?”
Drake chuckled. “Are you trying to swallow me?”
I stopped mid-step and glared at him. “Seriously? Are you going to spend the entire morning making comments like that?”
Drake laughed, holding his hands up in mock surrender. “Alright, alright. I’ll behave. But you know, it’s hard not to tease you when you’re this adorable.”
“Adorable, huh?” I said, crossing my arms. “Well, if being ‘adorable’ means waking up to you before sunrise, I think I’ll pass.”
“Aw, come on,” Drake said, giving me a charming smile. “I’m just trying to brighten your day.”
“I don’t need you to brighten my day by waking me up at six in the morning. I’m not making you breakfast,” I said, feeling a twinge of defiance.
