Vivi’s POV
I sat across the polished dining table, the familiar scent of rosemary chicken and roasted vegetables filling the air. The crystal chandelier above us gleamed, casting a soft glow across the room, but none of it could make the tension dissipate. Not when my father’s piercing eyes were fixed on me, assessing, questioning.
"You still haven’t started your internship, Vivi." His voice, deep and commanding, broke the quiet hum of the room. I could feel the pressure building in my chest. "I’ve arranged a fantastic opportunity for you at the firm. Why haven’t you started yet?"
The question hung in the air, as much a command as it was an inquiry. I could feel the weight of his expectations, the kind that always made my stomach churn. I knew where this was going.
